This place has really delicious food as well. I love coming here. There's just so many Latin places everywhere. It's really hard to judge but I like this place. The service is really nice. Everybody's friendly. The ambience is beautiful. I like it.

Great, authentic, hidden gem of Mahopac. So happy to have found this place. Location is small, I typically order takeout. The pupasas, tamales, rice, salads are all terrific, highly reccommend. Love the homemade tortillas and salsa--so good! The ladies who cook and run it are super nice. I recently moved to Mahopac from Los Angeles and have tried nearly every restaurant in town -- this is one of the best.

First time trying this hidden little spot hiding over by Lake Mahopac. We live close by do we decided to order Take Out. Since it's the Lenten season we decided to try out their seafood and we were not disappointed!! My husband had the seafood soup (mariscada) and it was phenomenal!! Very hard to find a good one made in restaurants around this area. I ordered their Shrimp in tomatoes with rice and beans, and that tomato sauce was delicious! I think we found out new spot!! And defintely try their sweet plantains with beans and crema ... You won't regret it!

Hole in the wall. But the Pupusas are LEGIT! I get the bean and cheese, the husband gets the revuelta plate that comes with rice, beans and maduros. Can't go wrong. It's delicious!

This place is great. Hidden gem, would never know it was there if it wasn't for me working with Spanish guys who recommended it. Best tortillas I've had. Chicken taco's are delicious. Torta de carne is another one of my favorites. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

First off I drive about half an hour to come here and enjoy the delicious pupusas salvadoreñas. About 8 years ago I discovered this place and ever since I haven't found a place better than this that make delicious pupusas. Definitely a 5 stars for me Service. Food drinks and desserts are all exceptional. Will definitely keep coming back for more With only 8 tables this small place stands out more than other big Latin restaurants on the area. If it's a busy day and you want to eat at home. Ordering take out is a breeze. Try it out. I say this is as authentic as Salvadorian food gets.

Pupusas on the lake! After a first ever experience in El Salvador I came home to an amazing surprise. Rincon Latino! A warm friendly smile welcomes you into this cozy and family experience and when I asked if they had Pupusas before seeing the menu...fireworks went off and made my night light up! I ordered the Carne Asada, fried plantains, and two Pupusas of course. This treasure of Mahopac is easily unseen and tucked away in the back corner of a multi-office complex across from the lake. Amazing food and worth experiencing real authentic El Salvadorian cuisine.

If you're doing takeout & you know 100% what you want beforehand this place is great. The inside is extremely hot, cramped & kind of crappy. If you don't speak Spanish there's going to be a language barrier. The menu is kind of confusing & to read & you may not get exactly what you order. "Re-fried beans & Rice" may refer to one side (rice mixed with re-fried beans) and not 2 things. The menu will not tell you specifics about what is included. You need to ask or just know based on experience. The quality of the food is really good, especially for the price. The Corn Tortilla Filled with Cheese rind pork was my favorite (it's an appetizer). The pork dishes were a little boring however you will be good with just about any steak item.

Rincon Latino

Nestled in the heart of Mahopac, Rincon Latino at 880 S Lake Blvd, Mahopac, NY 10541 brings authentic Latin American flavors to the table, satisfying both locals and curious travelers looking for something warm, hearty, and unforgettable.

A local favorite for Latin American cuisine in Mahopac, NY

Walk into Rincon Latino, and you're greeted by the comforting scent of spices, grilled meats, and slow-cooked stews. The vibe? Friendly, casual, and distinctly homey. This isn’t just another diner — it’s where Latin culture meets the cozy rhythm of a neighborhood eatery. People often come looking for "authentic Latin food near me," and this spot consistently pops up for good reason.

From the first bite of their pollo guisado, you get a sense that everything’s cooked with care. The kind of attention passed down from grandmother to mother, from kitchen to plate. Guests rave about the mofongo, made fresh with garlic, pork cracklings, and plantains, and served with a side of perfectly seasoned broth. It’s not only a dish — it’s an experience.

The menu reads like a love letter to Latin cuisine — tostones, pernil, empanadas, arroz con gandules — each item capturing the soul of its origin. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, you’re getting a meal prepared with pride and authenticity. And the portions? Generous enough to share, though you probably won’t want to.

A well-rounded menu with something for every craving

What stands out most about Rincon Latino is the diversity of dishes. While their roots are Dominican and Puerto Rican, the menu pays homage to a wide variety of Latin American staples. Whether you’re craving a simple plate of grilled steak and yuca or feeling adventurous with chicharrón de cerdo, it’s all here, cooked the way it should be — without shortcuts.

The drinks menu also deserves a mention. From classic aguas frescas to tropical fruit shakes like passionfruit, papaya, or mango, there’s something to complement every meal. On colder days, the caldo de res or beef soup warms you right to the bones, packed with vegetables and hearty chunks of meat.

Prices? Reasonable. This is the kind of place where a full meal won’t break the bank. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. That’s the mark of a reliable local spot — one that feels both personal and welcoming, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.

A community gathering point built on trust and tradition

What gives Rincon Latino its charm isn’t just the food — it’s the feeling of belonging. It’s common to see regulars chatting with staff by name, catching up like old friends. The owner is often around, checking in, making sure everything feels right. It’s clear this place is more than a business — it’s a pillar of the community.

Online reviews reflect this warmth. Visitors frequently highlight the consistency in flavors, the respectful and friendly service, and the comfort that comes with knowing exactly what to expect — quality food, served hot, in a relaxed setting.

Even those unfamiliar with Latin food find themselves returning. The staff is always happy to walk you through the menu, explain ingredients, or recommend a dish based on what you're craving. This kind of personalized experience makes it easy for newcomers to feel right at home.

Easy to reach, hard to forget — your next go-to spot in Mahopac

Conveniently located along S Lake Blvd, Rincon Latino is easy to access whether you're a local or driving in from nearby towns like Carmel or Brewster. Its central location near Mahopac’s lakefront makes it a great pitstop before or after a day outdoors.

Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, grabbing dinner on your way home, or even planning a casual weekend meal with friends, this spot delivers. It's also worth mentioning that parking is easy — something you don’t always get with places this good.

If you're looking for home-cooked meals that tell a story, if you're curious about the rich tapestry of Latin American food, or if you simply want a plate full of flavor, then Rincon Latino is where you need to be. From the ambiance to the menu, every detail is crafted with heart. This isn’t just a diner. It’s a celebration of culture, flavor, and hospitality, all served on one plate.
